We had the pleasure of organizing a session on startups for the apprentices of the Technical School. The aspiring IT specialists are working on turning their own ideas into business models – an exciting process that spans several weeks.

Our guest speaker, Christian Kunz, captivated the audience with an interactive talk about the Swiss startup landscape, his journey with BitsaboutMe, and the challenges and pitfalls faced by startups. Our key takeaway: team and timing are crucial to success.

What we found particularly fascinating was the comparison between disruptive startups and more conventional SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) formations. While the risks, scalability, financing needs, and control issues may differ greatly, both require a dedicated team with perseverance, a strong network, and sometimes a bit of luck.

Whether it’s a startup or an SME, we are always excited to support new ventures from the very beginning.
